HIV/AIDS and Domestic Violence
This course will cover the history of HIV, cultural biases and what is being done to prevent further spreading of this disease. In addition, students will learn whom is most impacted by HIV and what other professionals are doing about it. Domestic violence will be covered especially related to signs and symptoms of a battered person. In addition we will discuss the connection between drug/alcohol abuse and domestic violence.
This course will answer the following questions:
- Most recent updates on HIV/AIDS
- Who is most likely to be a perpetrator of DV
- How many women are abused every day?
