This course will provide a comprehensive overview of the various processes that are involved in conducting a thorough, clinically-‐based evaluation. The readings will explain, define and give examples of screening, intakes, assessments, stage of change, the ASAM and much more!
Clinical Evaluation is one of the Practice Dimensions in the TAP-‐21, which is the guideline used throughout your course work. Clinical Evaluation sets the stage for determining diagnosis, treatment level, treatment planning, discharge planning, case management need etc. In other words Clinical Evaluations serve as the platform for basically everything on behalf of the client and the counselor.
