Holiday Food Drive
With the Holiday Season approaching, The Academy for Addiction Professionals is initiating an Annual Thanksgiving Day Food Drive Collection. This is an opportunity for us to share our gratitude and good fortune with individuals in the community who might need our help.
We will be collecting non-perishable food items over the next two weeks from anyone who wants to participate and are working with Broward County Crime Commission who will coordinate delivery of the items to local homeless shelter in time for Thanksgiving. As we all plan our large meals and family gatherings this is an excellent opportunity to take time to consider many people in our community who aren’t so fortunate. We will have boxes located in suite 112 near the copy machine. If you have extra items at home….or choose to pick up extra items on your next grocery store visit your generosity will surely be appreciated by individuals fortunate enough to receive them.
Please being your NON-PERISHABLE items and place them in the boxes.
Below is a general guideline of the types of items we need: (you can add items as you think are appropriate…but no frozen or refrigerated items)
- Boxed Pie Crust Mix
- Bread and Baked Goods
- Canned Pumpkin Pie
- Gravy
- Instant Mashed Potatoes
- Boxed Stuffing
- Cranberry Sauce
- Canned Vegetables
- (i.e. corn, carrots, green beans, peas, etc)
Remember, this list is only a guideline and not all-inclusive. Gift cards from grocery stores are also welcome. Thanks for your participation and generosity.
