New Florida Certification Board Educational Requirements
October 26, 2014
The Florida Certification Board (FCB) has made plenty of changes to their certifications and educational requirements in 2014. We’ll keep you notified of these and future changes to ensure that you stay current with your educational requirements. The most important of these changes include:
- The Certified Addiction Counselor (CAS) designation is no longer being offered
- The 15-hour Supervision course is no longer required for Certified Addiction Professional certification. You will now need 30 Treatment Planning hours 15 Case Management and Referral hours
- 300 hours of on the job supervision is still required, however students will no longer need the 20 hours of on the job supervision of the applicant performing supervision-related job tasks.
- Our Supervision class has been converted to a Continuing Education course and is still available to those in other states that may need it. In the meantime, our courses, in person and online, have been altered to reflect these changes.
